Background Screening

BACKGROUND SCREENING NOTICE

Prior to being granted probationary membership in the Milltown Rescue Squad, all applicants are required to submit to a background screening. The purpose of the background screening is to determine whether you have been convicted of an indictable crime in the State of New Jersey (or comparable level conviction in another jurisdiction) that bears upon your fitness to have responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of at risks populations including but not limited to sick and injured persons, children, the elderly and/or individuals with disabilities.

You have the right to know that we do not share, disseminate, or disclose the information we receive during this process and that we do not retain the information after it is used.  Also, if we inform you that we have found information that could disqualify you from membership, you have the right to complete the record and/or challenge the accuracy of the criminal history before we act on the information.  You will be given at least thirty days to correct or complete the record.  We will provide you with information on how to correct your record or challenge the accuracy of the criminal history report as well as the source of the information in the notice we send to you.

The Milltown Rescue Squad uses TrionAid Associates Inc. of Toms River, NJ to conduct all background screenings. This will include a criminal and driving history search. This process will be conducted entirely online and will require you to complete a questionnaire and submit your First, Middle and Last Name, Birthday, Current Address, Social Security Number and Driver’s License Number. You will also be responsible for the cost of this screening, which will be directly identified on the website.
